Dangar Island is...

...an actual island on the Hawkesbury River in the northern outskirts of Sydney. Sheltered between the Brisbane Waters and Ku-ring-gai Chase National Parks, the island is a lush playground for native and migratory birds. It is also home to over 300 residents and many visitors.

Accessible only by water and with no private vehicles, life on Dangar Island has it's challenges but, if you ask the locals, it's all worth it.

Community is strong, with many volunteer groups working hard to make the island a happy, safe and enriching environment for all who visit or choose to live here.
